Peaceful Dwellings is a licensed Adult Family Home opened and operating since Feburary 2020, doing business 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. To meet the domestic, social, recreational, economic and health issues of the maximum of four individual’s ambulatory 18 years or older with Developmental Disabilities, Advanced Aged, Mental/Emotional Illness, Alzheimer’s/Irreversible Dementia Terminal illness and Corrections. Both men and women may choose to live at Peaceful Dwellings.

Peaceful Dwellings is a two story with two private bedroom, one shared bedroom 2-bathroom Cape Cod style single family home located in the Old North Milwaukee area, in Milwaukee WI with quick and easy access to community activities and services. Peaceful Dwellings has a roomy eat in kitchen, living room and laundry facility located on the lower level. The lower level also includes an onsite sitting area, exercise room and a storage area to store all client’s personal belongings.

This AFH is not equipped for clients in wheelchairs or for those who walk only with the use of crutches or cane but compatible for those who have a slight difficulty ambulating.

Clients considered for acceptance into the home will be compatible with other clients of the home and will be professionally recommended for community placement. Their primary diagnosis will need to be such that they could benefit from Peaceful Dwellings program. An assessment will be completed prior to admission that identifies the individual’s needs, abilities, interests, and expectations. This assessment will include both a personal interview and a record review including medical and social histories. A prospective client’s health will need to be screened by a health care professional 90 days prior to admission. The findings of this health examination need to be provided in a written statement and indicate that the prospective client is free of any communicable diseases. An admission agreement will be completed prior to admission and signed by the client or the client’s guardian if person’s consent is legally required.
